What Are You Doing With That Instrument This Summer?!?

So you've practiced all year with that beautiful horn, flute, drum; lip position, finger placement, note reading, rhythm---so much work!  Be very, very proud of yourself; on top of your rigorous academics, you are now a musician.  You belong to a very select group of fine people; a group of people who talk about key changes and their favorite overtures and who show off how they mastered that tricky pattern with wonky grace-notes.  What do you do with all of that work under your belt now that the spring concerts have been played and summer vacation is beginning?  You come to Franklin for the 8th annual Junior Silver Cornets program!  Our jolly director, Dan Cartwright, is back again to form a group of individual instrumentalists into a cohesive, harmonic and melodic band---all in the span of six (SIX!) rehearsals.  We will be back again this year at the Franklin Baptist Church (the dates are June 18, 19, 20 and 25, 26, and 27 with a concert also on Thursday the 27th).  More information is coming soon; this blog will serve as a message board to all who are interested and those who are registering.  I can be reached by email (amandalawt@gmail.com) with specific questions and/or concerns.  Enjoy your last few weeks of school, they will be gone before you know it, and hopefully we will be seeing you on June 18th!
